REMOTE START BYPASS APPLICATIONS

Chrysler / Jeep / Dodge Vehicles: $75.00 Installed
Referred to as "Smart Key or Sentry Key Immobilizer System", Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep have begun to make these Smart Keys a standard on all their vehicles. You can easily tell if the vehicle has the "Smart Key" system by the gray color of the ignition key head (as seen above). Most all vehicles that have the remote keyless entry integrated onto the ignition key (as seen above) have the Sentry Key technology integrated. Either way, gray key or integrated keyless key, you will require a bypass module to allow your vehicle to start by remote.
NOTE: Some of our customers wish to integrate their remote start capability directly to their factory integrated key remote. Call us for more information about this option. Note: If your vehicle is equipped with this system, you must have both ignition keys present at time of installation in order to program this module.

* All Sebring & Stratus Coupes and 1998-2002 Sebring Convertibles will require you to give up an ignition key for the bypass module. $55.00 Installed
** In 2008 Chrysler / Dodge introduced the "Tip Start" keys (pic above) that do not have a metal key sticking out of the remote (with exception to non-keyless equipped vehicles with a narrow metal key). If your vehicle has this type of key then the price is $110 for the bypass module and installation. This bypass module requires 1 key for programming.

GM Passkey System: $30.00 Installed
This system began to be used in 1986 and is still used on some current models today. This system simply has a coded resistor embedded in the metal portion of the key, which sends a signal to the vehicle allowing the motor to crank. It's easy to determine if your vehicle is equipped with this system. Look at your ignition key and see if you have a black chip on the metal portion of the key. (refer to the picture below for reference) If your vehicle is equipped with the PassKey system, then an additional part is required in order for the motor to start by remote.
GM Passkey lll, Passlock, & Hybrid System: $75.00 Installed
The Passkey lll System began to be used in 1997 and became widely used by 2000. This system simply has a coded transponder embedded in the plastic portion of the key, which sends a signal to the vehicle allowing the motor to start. It's easy to determine if your vehicle is equipped with this system. Look at your ignition key and see if PK3 is engraved on the on the metal by the plastic, then you have the PassKey III system. The Passlock System was introduced in 1995 on some vehicles and has progressively been used more and more, where it is found on a good majority of GM passenger vehicles. This system is standard on most 1998 and up GM trucks and SUVs. The PassLock system does not use the key pictured above. The best way to determine if your vehicle has the PassLock anti-theft system is to look at your instrument cluster while you start your vehicle. If you see a light come on that says "SECURITY", then you have the PassLock system. Newer vehicles will have a red or amber image of a vehicle with a lock through the vehicle.
The Hybrid System is a mix of the two systems above. This system came out first on the 2004 Malibu MAXX and is the most common system found on newer GM vehicles.
GM Flip-Key System: $110.00 Installed

* GM Flip Key vehicles were introduced in 2010. They require a little more labor and a different data module.

Ford / Lincoln / Mercury Vehicles: $75.00 Installed
In 1996 Ford Motor Company introduced Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS) on some of their vehicles and has progressively been using it more and more. To determine if your vehicle is equipped with PATS, check to see if a red "THEFT" light illuminates when you start the vehicle. Some vehicles may just have a red light (usually mounted high up on the center of dashboard), which will illuminate when starting the vehicle. If your vehicle is equipped with this factory anti-theft system, then an additional part is required in order for the motor to start by remote.

Note: Earlier vehicles (up to 2003) with this system require only ONE key for programming; the later vehicles must have TWO ignition keys present at time of installation in order to program this module.

Honda / Acura Vehicles: $75.00 Installed
Honda and Acura began using transponder keys in 1996 & 1997 and have became a standard on all models. To find out if your vehicle is equipped with this system check for a green light in the shape of an ignition key on your instrument cluster when you start the vehicle. Some vehicles may have a sticker on the side window indicating the vehicle is equipped with an anti-theft device. If you see either of these two items, then you have the Honda based anti-theft system, which will require an additional part.

Nissan / Infinity Vehicles w/CAN: 95.00 Installed

YES, you can add a remote start to your late model Nissan or Infinity equipped with the Intelligent key and turn knob switch. We recommend a single button remote start system because your existing keyless entry is part of the Intelligent key and remains operable. Call for more information about our single button system. On Intelligent key vehicles with a turn knob ignition switch we integrate the system to the drivers door pin switch for a proper user take over, this prevents someone from turning the switch ON with their fingers & driving off while the motor is running by remote. We can also add remote start to a push button start Nissan or Infinity. Even though these push start vehicles have an Intelligent key, they have a push start button instead of a turn knob switch mentioned above. For this reason it makes for a completely different type of install, costing a little more in labor. Call for more information. Either system... you'll love it.

Other Vehicles:
Certain vehicles require an additional module ($55.00 Installed) that houses an extra ignition transponder key in order for it to read the code within the key. Most of the time our customers give up their valet key because they tend not to ever use it since it doesn't open glove boxes or trunks. If you don't have a spare key to sacrifice to the remote start module, then an extra transponder key will need to be purchased and programmed at your dealership before it can be permanently installed.
